SUMINBOOK · TERMS
Using Suminbook
Updated October 25, 2026
Suminbook is a tool for recording salon work, calculating staff pay, and keeping related records. These terms describe the product’s role and the responsibilities that remain with the person using it.
01
Your records and decisions
Use Suminbook for records you are authorized to manage. Enter the correct amounts, dates, staff assignments, and pay terms. Review the calculation and period before confirming that pay has been paid. You remain responsible for decisions about staff pay and for making the actual payment.
Suminbook does not transfer wages, file payroll taxes, determine a worker’s legal classification, or establish whether your pay arrangement meets employment requirements. Its calculations depend on the information and settings you provide.
Suminbook is a record-keeping and calculation tool, not a payroll service. Nothing in the app, on this site, or from the assistant is legal, tax, or accounting advice. You are responsible for complying with the wage, tip, overtime, minimum-wage, and record-keeping laws where you operate, including giving your staff any itemized wage statement the law requires. The pay summaries Suminbook produces are for your staff’s information and do not replace those statements.
Suminbook records tips so you can pay them out. Where you operate, the law may prohibit a business from keeping any part of a tip or deducting card-processing fees from it. The App Store version of Suminbook passes 100% of recorded tips to the employee; if you adjust tip settings, you are responsible for making sure the result is lawful.
If you record information about other people, such as staff or clients, you confirm you are authorized to do so. You are responsible for telling your staff that their sales, hours, and pay are recorded in Suminbook and, where required, for obtaining their consent. Suminbook does not collect that information itself; it stays in your Apple Account and on devices you control.
02
Estimates, assistant answers, and saved history
Current-period figures can change as you add or correct entries. Hypothetical calculations are previews; they do not change pay terms by themselves. Review assistant output and the app’s confirmation step before saving changes. A saved pay summary records the confirmed pay; the owner can use the app’s reopening flow when a legitimate correction is needed.
Assistant answers can be wrong. The assistant summarizes and calculates from the records you entered; treat every figure it gives as a draft and check it against the Payroll screen before you pay anyone. Nothing the assistant says changes a pay setting or records a payment until you confirm it on the confirmation card. If you connect a third-party AI provider, that provider’s terms and privacy policy govern what it does with the information Suminbook sends it.
03
Devices, sync, and backups
Keep your device, Apple Account, and app PINs secure. Sync and some optional features depend on supported hardware and external services. Export backups before changing devices or making major changes to your records, and keep the files secure. A backup you share may contain private salon information.
04
Optional connected services
Connecting an AI provider is optional. You supply your own account and API key, and any provider charges and service conditions are separate from Suminbook. Features that use Apple services also depend on their availability and your device settings.
05
Access and pricing
The website currently describes planned launch pricing: free for one employee, and $24.99 per month for teams with unlimited staff, with a 30-day trial when team access opens. The installation and purchase flow will show the offer available to you before you accept it. An early-access request is a request for installation information; it does not start a paid subscription or promise immediate access.

07
Warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability
Suminbook is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that calculations are error-free or that the app will be uninterrupted.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Suminbook and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or claims by your employees or any third party, arising out of or related to your use of the app, including underpayment or overpayment of wages or tips calculated with the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Suminbook in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing.
You are responsible for reviewing every amount before you pay anyone. Suminbook helps you keep records and add them up; it is not a substitute for your own review or for professional payroll, tax or legal advice, and you agree not to rely on it as one.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Suminbook and its developer from any claims, losses and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, brought by your employees, contractors, customers or any third party that arise from your business, your pay and tip decisions, the records you enter, or your use of the app.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
